Principal's Message
My name is Robert Cunard and it is my honor to have been appointed to serve as the principal of Magnolia High School beginning July 1, 2010. I grew up in Orange County. After attending U.C. Berkeley, I returned to southern California and taught English in Long Beach and Irvine for fifteen years. I served in the Newport-Mesa Unified School district as an assistant principal for nine years, and I was the principal of La Sierra High School, located in Riverside, for the past four years.
High school is where we find our dreams while developing the skills to make them come true. High school students thrive in an environment which is rich in activities, athletics, and opportunities to interact with our community. Magnolia has established strong traditions of excellence in a variety of programs, including a thriving student activities program, superb athletic teams, AVID, Puente, and ROTC. My mission at Magnolia is to work with our students, staff, and community so that every student can achieve high levels of learning. During the 2010 – 2011 school year our staff will be more deeply focused on using effective teamwork to improve student academic achievement. We will dedicate the second and fourth Tuesday mornings each month to structured, goal-oriented collaboration which will improve student achievement. This collaboration will be at the heart of our efforts to insure that all Magnolia students achieve high levels of learning. Please feel free to contact me at 714-220-4245 or via e-mail at cunard_r@auhsd.us. Robert Cunard |
