of race, ethnicity, gender, educational needs and sexual orientation.
• All students’ individual needs will be considered when
evaluating the counseling program.
• All students will participate in the counseling program.
• All students will be informed and empowered to make
their own educational and life decisions.
The counseling program should:
• Be goal oriented and individual specific.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, administration, families and community members.
• Have measurable goals that will be evaluated by data and be evidence driven.
All counselors:
• Will follow the ethical guidelines developed by the
American School Counselor Association (ASCA) guidelines.
• Will develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum based on
the student competencies developed by ASCA.
• Will participate in professional development activities to stay
informed on current issues in the field of school counseling.
• Will create a college going culture that encourages growth and independence.
