Library
STAFF:
Library media Teacher: Josie Martinescu
Library Media Technician: Cheryl Vanderpool
HOURS:
The library is open 7:30 to 3:45 every school day.
Checkout Procedures:
Students must have a valid, current student ID card with their picture in order to check out materials. Students may check out up to three books at a time. Regular books are available for two weeks, or ten school days. School holidays and weekend days do not count. Some reference books check out overnight. Magazines check out for two nights.
Fines:
Books and other materials kept longer than the ten school-day period will accrue a fine of 20 cents per school day, up to the price of the book. Fine notices will be posted regularly and distributed to all English teachers, who will post them or notify the students responsible. Do not check out books for your friends! If you do, you will be held responsible for the book, not your friend.
Computers:
In order to use the computers that have access to the Internet, students must have on file a signed Internet permission form giving parental permission. The forms must be signed during the registration process. Students must sign in on the Computer Sign-In Sheet at the circulation desk. Computers are to be used for school-related work only. Students who misuse the computers will be asked to leave. A second violation may result in students losing all computer privileges in the library. There are only 14 computers for over 1,600 students.
Printing and copying:
A copy machine is available for student use. Black and white photocopies cost 10 cents per copy. Black and white printed copies cost 10 cents per page for text, and 25 cents per page for pictures. Color printed copies cost 25 cents per page.
